Who is the best manager in Major League Baseball.?

I saw a question about the worst recently so why not have a question on the lighter note.

With each passing season I become more and more convinced it is Ron Gardenhire. Year in and year out he takes a mid-market team to the playoffs. When you watch the Twins play they are always prepared, they play hard and they don't make a lot of mental mistakes to hurt themselves.

This year in a new park requiring a little different strategy, it was no problem. The Twins are rolling along with one of the best records in baseball despite having lost Justin Morneau for the second half.

Heck, he even turned Carl Pavano into an effective pitcher.

I have said this time and time again. Ron Gardenhire is the best MLB manager right now. No one ever mentions him but look at what he have done with the Twins. They have a mediocre payroll and yet they have no problem winning hte AL Central.

    In no particular order:

    Long term -

    Mike Sciosia

    Joe Maddon

    Terry Francona

    Tony LaRussa

    Bobby Cox

    Joe Torre

    This season only -

    Bud Black

    Joe Girardi

    Ron Washington

    Charlie Manuel

Only the Manager of the Year Award in each league will determine the "best".

    I say Joe Madden

I would've said Joe Torre until that one day where he left Broxton in for like 50+ pitches.

Coming from a Red Sox fan.

    Joe Torre

bobby cox. you can here him cheering on his players individually from the dugout. all is players love him and have so much respect for him, which is why theyre working their butt off to try to give him 1 more ring. 14 straight div titles. most ejections of all time, but that's because he trys to protect his players to keep them in the game. 4th most wins of all time

edit: what's with all the thumbs down?! i was just giving an honsest, heartfelt answer. but i'll take it as a complement, jealous haters :)
