But in answer to the question Mascherano was one of the lowest paifd players at Liverpool....laast season he was only on £30k compared with some of the other big players.......Rafa wanted him to stay and his wages were going to be increased to £60k............he was hoping to leave last summer but no one came in for him as his price was sky high.........So he stayed and this year Liverpool put a £100k contract on the table......he chose to go to Barca for £85k........but actually its a better deal for him as 50% tax in UK and only 43% in Spain ..plus the bonus system at Barca he will be loaded.
