How hard is it to make a frame repair on a 1960's Pontiac Bonneville?
Tires went flat, drivers side sat in the mud and now the frame has a hole rusting in it on the drivers side below the door. Is this a repair that can be made with reliability ?

Yes, you can fix it. Find a level area, and lift the car evenly on all four wheels. Welding a frame repair on an unlevel surface could ensure improper alignment for eternity.Grind it , clean it , patch it.

as long as the frame is still together and in one piece I would set it up on jack stands front to rear, and then fabricate a patch of some kind covering the hole and maby adding material to both sides to make it stronger. If it is on a corner or in a difficult spot to make a patch and weld a good strong repair you should be good to go, If your plan is restoration, then more care, and some professional planning will be needed, it really depends on what you plan to do with the car at the end, such as a show car, or a drag car, you would do the repair two different ways.
