If Voldemort wanted to kill Harry himself why was Quirrell attempting to kill him in the first quidditch match?
Harry Potter. Philosopher's Stone.
Ok, I know everything about it. I don't need a refresher on PS/SS. But even if Quirrell was essentially Voldemort, Voldemort would not have wanted QUIRRELL to do it. Come on, his ego was bruised enough as it is getting his *** kicked by a two year old. Quirrell would not have even dared to question Voldemort's orders and Voldemort's orders have always been "Let me kill Potter."
A Very Potter Musical does a good job showing that Voldemort would have been around at ALLLLLL times.
Really, it seems like Jo messed up a little and contradicted herself across her books. Fantastic writer, but I can't get past this little question.
Really, this question can't be answered by you, and if you do end up presenting a good argument, I'll be quite pleased. But don't just blow it out your ***. :/

As of then, Quirell's job was to steal the stone to get Voldemort his body back. He saw Harry as a threat and tried to kill him. Quirell knew that if he managed to injure (or kill) Harry, his path to the stone would be clear. Plus, if Harry prevented him from stealing the stone, Voldemort wouldn't get his body back, and he wouldn't be able to kill Harry himself anyway. It is sort-of confusing, but if you put yourself in Quirell's spot and think like him, it makes sense.

Voldemort wanted Harry to be weakened I suppose. I think this is what he was thinking (Voldemort):
Hehehe my evil minion Quirrell shall help me! Once he shoots Potter to the ground, I can finish him off!
Aka he didn't think Quirrell would kill him, more like just hurt him a lot.

Quirrell was probbaly bewitched by Voldemort which kinda counted as Voldemort doing it? or maybe it would just injure Harry so he will be too weak to stand up to Voldemort

Voldemort was practically Quirrel, freshen up on your HP.
Just kidding, but seriously he was. Because he wasn't strong enough to be contained in his own body, pretty crazy.

First, It's Sorceror's Stone, not Philosopher. Second, Voldemort was sticking out of Quirrel's head the whole time. Quirrel just wore a turban all the time. So it was Voldemort trying the whole time. Re-read the book. You'll get it.

don't you remember? voldemort was part of Quirrel the whole time!

Voldermort needed quirrel to survive thus being part of him, and being able to control his actions.

don't point out flaws in the plot lol. that's like the classic question "why didnt gandalf use the eagles to transport frodo and the ring to the fires of moldor instead of making them walk" (LOTR)
it just ruins the story lol
