Can this damage an av receiver?

Whilst in standby, switching off at the plug then on again quickly (ie. well under a second)?

    once or twice wouldnt hurt it, but i wouldnt recommend doing it on aregular basis.

    Some receivers have an internal fuse which might blow under a quick on off

    My hope is that you will finally try it and your receiver will catch on fire and maybe explode and then you will stop asking this question.
