How do I make sure something in my computer is trully gone?

While surfing I came across something I wish I hadn't seen, how do I make sure that is trully wiped from my computer for ever?

If you go to Start -> Search (using the search companion) and run a scan, you can find items according to names/keywords and then if you right click the according result you can Open Containing Folder or Open Location (depending on your operating system).

From there, you want to press Shift+Delete. This will delete it permanently without sending it to the recycle bin. If it's data related to a program that you've already removed, you might need to hop into the registry and take care of things there. However, I wouldn't recommend messing around in there if you aren't comfortable with that.

Well first of all that depends on if your web browser cached it. Unless you're running Google Chrome in Incognito mode or modified the cache settings, it probably did get cached.

This means the file was actually saved onto your computer. You could reformat your computer several hundred times; each time filling it up with junk data before formatting it again. But that's probably a waste of time anyways because the feds are likely en-route to your house now and there's no way you could format your hard drive that many times before they get there.

if it's not a virus; just a deletion click "start"; then search and delete it again. Also click "recent" to view what you recently downloaded. You can then delete it there. When you turn off and on again search to be sure it's gone. Especially if your computer is monitored by an adult.

i think you should do that: search for file "microsoft update" in search, than make your default browser Internet Explorer 7 or higher and it will fix your windows, if your problem is there... ;)
