This may sound like a stupid question, but will a floor fan cool a laptop?

My laptop's vent is on the side so those laptop cooling fan things won't work. What I want to know is if I can use a typical household fan to cool it down by having it blowing directly towards it.

Thanks in advance

Update:

The laptop cooling pads won't work.... I said it very clearly in my first post.... the vent is on the side, so they can't blow into it.

it will. it works even better if you put the laptop up on something that leaves the bottom off the ground, and have the fan blowing there. It works for me.

i like the place youre going with this, i bypass college a lot. many times if u circulate to ur mom nd say u dont experience properly, she shud permit united statesa. off college . If she doesnt permit u say youll be no use in college besides because of the fact your feeling ill, and you wont have the capacity to concentration.it particularly works greater clever in case you assert experience ill the nighttime b4 so it doesnt arouse suspicion. Failing that, what ive completed a pair of cases is pretend notes from my mothers and fathers that are writen by employing pals saying i became ill the day basically before this and didnt are available. Howver ive been caught as quickly as and became in deep truble so i wouldnt recommend it, in basic terms a final hotel. I dont particularly have the different suggestions, the ill trick is the terrific i fink. besides solid success, desire it particularly works! Elle, South dakota xxxxxxx

If you blow directly towards it you're pushing the hot air back against the fan. It won't help.
