You might be able to, but I strongly reccomend you get a DVD recorder or DVR with a Freeview tuner built in, or a separate tuner for the DVD recorder you have (if it hasn't a Freeview tuner built in).
That way, you can watch one channel direct, whilst watching another, or recording TV programming when you cannot, without having to leave the TV on.

If your DVD recorder has a built-in Freeview tuner then you should be able to record the digital channels easily.
If it hasn't, buy yourself a Freeview set-top box and connect it to the input of your DVD recorder.

I dont think so. I think you need a external freeview for your dvd recorder. Ask your TV manufacturer - They should guide you in the right direction.

>Plug scart cable into VCR scart on back of television and the other end into Input 1 of the dvd recorder
>Plug another scart cable into TV socket on back of television and the other end into TV socket of the dvd recorder
>Turn on television and change to Freeview channel you want to record
>Change television channel to Scart
>Turn on dvd recorder and change to Input 1 then press record on dvd remote
The dvd recorder should have it's own digital tuner, if so plug an aerial into the back, you can then record one channel and watch another
