Answer lots questions in one topic, and if you get enough best answers, you'll be a top contributor.

You answer many questions in one category. After a while you get the tag top contributor. If you quit answering for a week or so, you loose the designation. It's supposed to keep you coming back and answering every few days.

Get together a dozen or so of your friends and take it in turn to answer questions, all with the same username. That way you can keep it up for hours every day.
Take a look at your favourite section and see if you can spot any. It's not difficult.
Naturally you will have to share the 'fame', such as it is, but at least you get to rant at people without them knowing who you are.

You devote your life to Y!A and in exchange you get a nifty orange box with the words top contributor in it.
