Is this guy a scammer - YES! theblackduckie@gmail.com?

theblackduckie@gmail.com is a scammer. They sent me an email offering me the chance to buy a ebay auction car I had bid on last month. The problem is... I bought the car 3 weeks ago directly from the seller... Doh! Not to mention the price was $8k cheaper :)

I'm just trying to get this email address out there so people know he/she is a phishing/scam artist...

Thanks for posting. Same guy also tried to sell me a car from an expired ebay auction; I knew it was fake but he somehow got my personal info. Let's burn him at the stake...

You're doing the right thing by posting the info publically. Post it on some anti scam sites so that if anyone does a search and find it, they'll also find helpful information so they'll know what do if they've been scammed.

It's futile to report the email account to gmail for closure, he'll just set another one up in minutes. The longer they use the same email addresses, the more chance there is of it showing up in posts like this or on anti scam sites. Since scammers are going to continue to use free webmail services, the more the scammer uses the SAME email addresses (rather than new unknown ones) the more change of preventing victims.

Since you had already bought the car, you should have deleted this e-mail immediately - malware can now be downloaded if you merely open a spam mail (you are not protected by your anti-virus program, you need anti-malware capabilities too)

If you get spam email that you think is deceptive, forward it to spam@uce.gov. The FTC uses the spam stored in this database to pursue law enforcement actions against people who send deceptive email.

Also, complain to Ebay, since this scam is related to your bid, and Ebay's security.

tc0nn can you provide us with an ebay link or an item number of the transaction?

I am curious to see how the scammer operates, I am very scared to buy on ebay, I was scammed before, always maintain your communications through ebay, on a large purchase call the seller to confirm their legitimacy, never send money in advance.

Thanks, but I'm not the type who opens stupid emails saying "ZOMG FREE LAPTOP DELL OMFG CLICK THIS AND GET TONS OF VIRUSES THAT INCLUDING LOUIS.EXE WHICH REQUIRE APPLICATION PILLS TO TERMINATE"

Nah I'm just makin fun, but in all seriousness I just delete those right off the bat, thanks for the headsup though I'm sure other people can use it
