Hurricanes hitting Canada?

Why is it that American articles - or daily weather programs (like those today about Earl) never point out that the Canadian maritimes over the past 20 years have been hit by more storms than anyplace in the USA, save for Florida?? (and Earl expected to likewise hit Nova Scotia Saturday).

Is this not, in its way, another case of American arrogance and self-indulgence and ignorance?

Maybe it's only weather for the UNITED STATES not Canada.

I think it immature to get angry just because we don't care about your weather.
