where can I get a free or cheap domain name?

I have had a lot of success with http://www.godaddy.com/default.aspx. Depending on the domain name, most of them are in the $1 - $10 range for a year. You can search and make sure the domain is available, and then do the transaction right there. They will even host the site for you if you need it, but if you have another website, that is probably not needed. Hope that is helpful.
