Question from contemplating Earl...?
At the present moment 105mph Hurricane Earl is churning up the USA's east coast...
It seems to me that a severe winter Nor'easter, with 60-70 mph northeasterly winds in a 500+ mile fetch, is much more severe and damaging to Cape Cod, Long Island, Massachusetts eastern coast, et al., than Earl, with an easterly and northeasterly fetch of only 100 miles or less, would be if it struck; Am I correct?

I've never been in a Nor'easter, but I've sat through plenty of 60-70 mph tropical storms and enough full out hurricanes to know that there is a big difference between tropical storm strength winds and 100+mph wind. 60-70 mph winds will have the trees swaying, while 100+ will have the house swaying. Believe me I'm not making light of 70 mph steady winds, sitting through that is pretty darn nerve wracking, but compared to 105, the damage is much lighter. JMHO, but the faster the wind gets, the worse it seems; it's like a 30 mph difference feels more like a 60 mph difference.
I think the difference is the amount of damage compared to the size of damage in this case. Five hundred miles of downed limbs and some trees, maybe a few shingles, can be less or as expensive as 100 miles of roofless homes/businesses, downed trees, flattened buildings from surge, broken windows, etc. Of course you have to factor in storm movement, path, rate of speed, precipitation, and if Nor'easters have surge to factor in, and all that other stuff, so this is purely speculation.

It's readable. XD Um, it's unusual, however that is k. I learn plenty of unusual books ha ha. You're correct; this would make extra feel if we knew the plot, however i believe it is smart finally...
