Kobe Bryant is the best baskatball player to ever play the game?

everyone who thinks jordan could shoot better than kobe is a stupid motherf*cker. the only reason mj fg% is higher because he got most of his shots from the paint. His midrange game was nowhere as good as kobes and mikes 3 pointer was no better than lebrons. My opinion is kobe is the greatest offensive talent the league has ever seen. Michael"his airness'' Jordan is the PAST. below is a 10min video link to youtube covering most aspects of kobes greatness.

what are your opinions

I'd like to think the player of today are better than the players of the past, but Jordan was beyond his era. Jordan doesn't shoot 3's or midrange shots because that's not his game. In fact, I don't like it when LeBron shoots 3's. Why settle when you're unstoppable?

In my opinion, Kobe is the best player to have ever played, but I do believe Jordan is the greatest. Jordan brought the whole world into basketball and that's what great athletes do for their sport. If Kobe beats the Heat this season, I believe that this achievement will be good enough proof of him being the best player to have ever played.

When has a team ever had 3 players that average 25 ppg (not including All star games)? People said that the Celtics were gonna become a decent team when they acquired KG and Allen, but those same people said that they wouldn't win a championship. People are doing the same thing to the Heat right now. I doubt the Lakers are going to win the title this year, but I really want to see them win it because I want to see how the world reacts to Kobe. Will he gain greatness like Jordan or will the world continue deny him?

r u drunk, high, or off a x-pill? dude u gotta b ****** kiddin me! kobe is not a better mid-range shooter than mike the only thing he has on mike is a better 3 point shot n an easier era 2 play in(mike played against the bad boys and when a defensive 3 second and hand checking was allowed!)...mike got 6 titles! mike was the best interior scorer in history he has 5 mvp awards and 6 finals mvp awards o and he scored 40+ three times at the age of 40! also mike is mo clutch then kobe and has way better defense. the thing that doesnt make him the best offensive player ever is his passing also and just the face that kobe is a crybaby! and he tries to imitate jordan so hard! but dont get me wrong kobe is the best now and the 2nd greatest ever in history 2 touch a basketball.

Kobe has led the league in scoring twice, Jordan did it 10 times. Jordan averaged more points, assists, offensive rebounds, total rebounds, and a higher shooting percentage. And Jordan's midrange is game is better than Kobe's.

Arguing with an idiot is pointless though.. So I'm gonna stop.

Wait a minute. I can understand if you say Kobe's a better 3-point shooter than Jordan, because that sounds about right. But you obviously never watched Jordan play if you seriously believe his mid-range game is inferior to Kobe's. There isn't a better or more consistent mid-range shooter in the history of the NBA than Michael Jordan, and that includes Kobe. Jordan's mid-range game, in fact, was even more refined once he perfected his post-game, which allowed him to use his footwork to get off his trademark "fadeaway" shot over any defender. In no way am I disputing Kobe's greatness, but he isn't a better mid-range shooter than Jordan was.

As far as the "greatest offensive talent" and "greatest player" statements, I disagree with Kobe being the G.O.A.T., but his offensive prowess cannot be overlooked. I still won't consider him to hold the crown of being the best offensive player either, but he certainly can be included in the discussion.

My standards for "pleasant" is who was once essentially the most DOMINANT of his technology. So matters like "unstoppable" or "you'll be able to best desire to include him" come to brain. Bonus pts for being a entire participant and gambling all sides of the ball. Also jewelry, person awards, and so on. I like your 10, simply in an additional order. one million. Michael Jordan two. Wilt Chamberlain three. Magic Johnson four. Bill Russell five. Kareem Abdul-Jabar 6. Larry Bird 7. Shaquille O'neal eight. Kobe Bryant nine. Oscar Robertson 10. Tim Duncan honorable point out: Brian Scalabrine long run most sensible 10: Lebron James

Kobe is great, but he was watching Jordan's vedio

    when he learn basketball.

Jordan was a player that was way ahead of his time.

he playing style was fresh during the 90's era. and players

like Kobe are just learn lots of what Jordan has done.

Over all, Jordan for me is still the best player in the history

of NBA, he have change the game of basketball completely.

and as of today after Jordan long retired, people still compare

some of the best player in the game with Jordan him self. another

word. Jordan is the bar of being the best in basketball.

All it took was a 10min video for you to come to this conclusion? Kobe is a better three point shooter, but that's about where it ends. But your boy went 0-6 in game 7 against the celtics from 3 point range. And if you call him the greatest of alltime than he CAN"T go 6-24 in a game 7. LMFAO. Some of kobe's worst shots came in these playoffs. 2 Airball last minute shots that had to get bailed out by Artest and Gasol. Greatest of All time doesn't do that.

    Did you know that?

66% of Kobe Bryant's points came from inside of 15 feet and free throws combined? The myth that zones force long distance jump shots is not true. Furthermore, teams rarely run zones. Teams can't hand check, can't chuck, can't hold away from the ball, can't get away with hard fouls to intimidate perimeter players without being suspended, can't stand in the lane longer than 3 seconds, and can't get credit for a charge inside of the circle. Playing physical defense, as well as playing "goalie" in the lane is discouraged.

Imagine great shooters such as Larry Bird, Alex English, Mitch Richmond, Terry Porter, Glen Rice, Dale Ellis, Reggie Miller, Adrian Dantley, Sean Elliott, Nick Anderson, Chris Mullin, and many others being able to shoot the ball inside of 15 feet more often while getting to the line regularly. Also imagine Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, Rolando Blackman, Tim Hardaway, Gary Payton, Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Penny Hardaway, John Starks, Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas, Kevin Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Grant Hill, Ron Harper, Gerald Wilkins, Steve Smith and many others being able to get into the paint as often as today's players, these guys would shoot a million free throws under today's rules. It's easy for a nerdy youngster from this era to write off each of these players's talents considering the fact that these nerdy youngsters didn't see enough of these players's careers to register an educated opinion. Scouts want to see a mountain of game film, combine numbers, etc before they judge a player's skill.... but in the basketball world you will find so many nerdy kids who judge a players's skill based on a couple of youtube videos.

Question for Clyde Drexler: In the current league where there is no hand checking and no rough play how much better would your numbers be?

Clyde Drexler: "Oh, tremendously better, from shooting percentage to points per game everything would be up, and our old teams would score a lot more points, and that is saying something because we could score a lot back then. I do think there should be an asterisk next to some of these scoring leaders, because it is much different trying to score with a forearm in your face. It is harder to score with that resistance. You had to turn your back on guys defending you back in the day with all the hand checking that was going on. For guys who penetrate these days, it's hunting season. Yes, now you can play (floating) zone (legally), but teams rarely do."

"The defensive rules, the hand checking, the ability to make contact on a guy in certain areas .... [have] all been taken away from the game. If Kobe could get 81, I think Michael could get 100 in today's game." - Scottie Pippen January 2006

Craig Hodges is the Lakers shooting coach, get a look at what he said:

Q: If you could take one player in their prime, would you take Michael Jordan or Kobe?

A: M.J., all day. There's no comparison. M.J. could score 100 points in this era. You can't hand-check now. Imagine that trying to guard M.J. It would be crazy.

Back to the drawing board kid.

    Hope this helps.

yea i agree...kobe bryant is the best ever to play. people usually disrespect kobe by saying "hes not even top 10, why would you consider him as GOAT" stuff like that...thats because he emulated mj's game and did it better. nba has immortalized mj's status as the best player but kobe bryant is the best ever..and if the lakers beat the heat this year it will just solidify the fact that kobe is > jordan.
