Need to know how to format a cell in Excel?

I am trying to create a new spreadsheet and am stuck. I have 2007 Excel and need help.

This is what I have. In row 12 column A,B and C, I have the cells merged. What I would like to do is when I enter text in this cell, that it places the same text in column B, rows 18 through 30. These cells are also merged. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Click in the cell you want to copy the data to e.g. B18, click the = sign, then click on the merged cells in row 12, then beore you press enter, press the F4 key once. This ixes the formula to look at that cell. You can now copy the formula down the required number of cells.

    Hope this helps

If I understand you correctly B18 - B30 are merged.

    If so

insert =A12 into the B18-30 cell

To view the text in B18-30 you may need to format the cell as merged & wrapped
