Is Gerard Houllier the right choice for Villa?
It is highly likely that he will be announced as "Director of Football" at Aston Villa in the next few days with Kevin MacDonald and Stan Staunton as Coaches. After his days and failures at LFC is he the right man to take AVFC forward....or a big mistake?

He fit the chairmans wish that the new gaffer has prem experience, but Curbishley has been catapulted into the frame as well now, throw in Moyes & Sven and we've mentioned the first 5 in the betting.
All the dailies mentioned Houllier today, are they just trying to sell papers Mark?
No rumours of Di Matteo then? phew! EL

I would ask if Aston Villa is right for Gerard Houllier, thought he did a fantastic job at Liverpool until his much publicised heart attack, leaving the team in Phil Thompsons incapable hands, think the pressure of expectation and the nature of his absence ultimatly lead to the conclusion being in the best interest of both parties.
Very good coach, hope the guy isn't intrested in returning to the game for the wrong reason's (proving to himself he's still medically capable for eg.)

realllly unsure. He might bring some needed help to the team but im not a fan of this directed of this technical that. For me there should be coaches that work under a manager that works under the chairman. Guess im old fashioned for my age.

I don't know because he was a great manager before his heart attack but I can't see him failing
