Tips for running the mile?

Okay so Tuesday we run the mile. Its not like I am out of shape, its just that I am a short distance runner. I am in 9th grade and our best mile is like 6 30 or so. I run about 8 min on a good day. I was looking for tips to help me prepare, and help me while running the mile

First, make sure you go to the toilet before hand... haha, but i suppose being nervous or needing the toilet can make you go faster somehow. Erm, well it's up to you what you prefer to do tbh. You could either start of really fast and get ahead... but obviously you're gonna get tired out. Or you can start off slow and get faster each lap. Either way, it doesn't guarantee you first place... but more than likely you're not gonna come last. Most people tell you to start off slow though. What i tend to do is start of averagely slow, just at a speed that i know i can keep up for the whole way... then when i approach a person i feel can over take i just go for it.

To help you prefer, just practise on a track and record your times. but considering this is tuesday, don't push it to hard or you'll be rather tired for then! Sorry i'm not sure if this helps or not, as i'm talking about racing, but i guess it'd be the same sort of training :)

You ran 7:19, that is first-class for a newbie. Honestly, 6:30 is a truly stretch for handiest strolling on Friday's. That time gets you a place at the monitor distance crew. My endorse is that this: attempt to run a regular velocity. In the top, in case you have something left, fairly opt for it up for the final 200meters or so. If you would run like a loopy individual, that implies you would have stored a quicker velocity within the first side of the race. You fairly do not wish to be equipped to run extraordinary quick sooner or later. You wish so much of your paintings to be performed within the first 1400 meters of the race. The extra you run, the extra you'll be able to comprehend this.

pace yourself at 90-95 sec each 400, there would be 4 of them , you can do three laps with no problems but you would need to push hard on the last one. Try doing that before time trial maybe even today make sure that you have someone to time your laps 90-95(1min and 30-35 sec) per lap

Before you do anything, STRETCH. Make sure you're hydrated throughout the day. Feel out the first lap, it should be at a comfortable pace. Just hold it for the second lap. You're going to have to work hard on the third lap to make sure you stay on pace. And the last lap usually takes care of itself.

    kayy

    -on your first one:stride

    -second mile:start getting faster

-third one:this is usually the hardest lap for everyone just breathe and stride and pace yourself

-4th lap:build up try to pass as many people as you can don't quit

-the last 100m:SPRINT no matter how tired you are you"ll find it in you this is the most awesomest part if you sprint and you're dead tired you wont even feel your legs it's like your flying with the wind hitting your face
