US Troops in bloody battle in Baghdad: Another Obama promise up in smoke?

Yes......we spend all those years there and because Obama wants to keep his one promise he revealed to our enemies what we were to do. Iraq has no government yet. We need to stay until they can get it together. of course Obama in his speech said it was time for them to take responsibility but everyone I knew that had gone over there says Iraq was and still is a mess. People had NO laws to live by. Saddam was a dictator and people feared him but they also knew were they would get their pennies. It will take a while for them to figure out freedom and what it stands for..

He invited these attacks by saying that the American combat mission was over. All anyone had to do to discredit him and all of America was pull American troops into a fight. This is why the policy of "no arbitrary deadlines" was practiced for so many years. But BO is too stupid to understand things like that. I knew as soon as he said the words that the terrorists would do this. Regardless of how nuanced and careful they were in drawing up the terms and conditions, all people heard was America isn't gonna fight anymore. And since the terrorist love to make us look like liars, they immediately set out to draw America into a fight. This will fuel their propaganda for weeks. Their gonna tell everyone that the evil imperialist crusaders will never leave and never stop killing Iraqis. It was completely predictable. Obama was a naive fool to think otherwise.

I'm starting to see a trend, every time Obama speaks of his greatness or presuccess it's only a day or two that the truth come out it must be embarrassing to continue doing the same thing over and over again and it doesn't work. He seems to fall short on creativity.

Some people are born into greatness

while others have greatness thrust upon them.

Unfortunately Obama has neither.

Any one who knows anything about war knows a withdraw like obamas only give the enemy the upper hand!! It make the time right for and attack and the troop strength at the minimum for a guarantee hurt on us!!

It's a shame obama doesn't use his military advisers!!! Unless he is and then making things up as he go's!! Take that the way you want to!!!!

I could show Liberals the facts and figures of how much money it is possible to get out of the rich a thousand times and it would be easier to teach a pig to sing than to convince them that tax increases on the rich are not going to pay more than a tiny fraction of the money we need.

How did so many people mediocre at best when dealing with money get so "knowledgeable" about taxation?

Obama promised us as a condition of his election that he would not raise taxes. He not only has no choice now but will have to raise them on EVERYONE even the poor. Even that will not be enough!

We will not delve into socialism though as they are hoping. We will be more like Mexico-home of the richest man on earth-where you are either filthy rich (2%) or middle class (6%) or very poor (92%).

I can't WAIT for Dems to repeat ad nauseam: "Obama LIED about ending the war in Iraq." And I can't wait for Keith Olberman to start his countdown: "It's now been 5 days since the Obama administration declared the end to military conflct in Iraq."

That seems clear enough and hardly unexpected.

You will do and say anything to see this Administration fail. You do realize that also means the USA fails? We know you want a million US troops in the Middle East, attacking Iran and swooping over to attack North Korea - that's your idea of gung ho diplomacy. Thanks, but we had enough of that BS when the gangster Cheney and hisd puppet Bush were running the place into the ground.

Combat troops have left Iraq, promise fulfilled. Just because insurgents attacked US soldiers doesn't mean the President broke any promises or is responsible at all. Anytime there are troops in a region, there is risk of attack even if their role is peace keeping, stop trying to blame the President for every unfortunate thing that happens.

Obama was a brilliant campaigner....but as President he is showing himself to be clueless and a man without integrity who is unable to keep his word and his promises.

Interesting information!

Bush wanted the combat mission out of Iraq 5 days ago. Obama just make it two weeks earlier.

So either way, we'd be out of Iraq by now anyway.

Plus, Iraq was a lost cause anyway.
