Just don't pick anyone from Craigslist.
And as long as there are downtown hotels that rent by the month, you will never be on the streets.
My friend is staying at some sort of Budget Inn or some hotel room that he rents by the week in El Cajon, CA and it is nice. Has air conditioning, I'm sure, and obviously, maid service.
Have you applied for welfare and food stamps? Sounds like you're going to need them. Good luck to you. You better go apply now, I THINK it could be 30 days until you get your money and food card, so you'd better get the ball rolling right away. Don't go into the office when you apply, wearing ANY jewelry, nice watch, nice handbag, pretty clothes, or anything like that. If you have beauty parlor hair, stuff it under a hat or bunch it up in a ponytail and if you have nice fingernails, get rid of them. I am serious, if you go in there looking like you have ANY sort of money or income, you could be denied, so go in there looking as plain as possible.
