How many points systems has NASCAR had over the year?

    10 different point systems have been used. The current NASCAR points system was developed in 1975 following years of trouble in trying to develop a points system—from 1949 until 1971, six different systems were used, and in 1972, NASCAR used a different system each year for the next three years.
