Thank you for the information.. I obviously know that I need to write it... but, since this is my first time.. many places say they need an agent before publishing. I was hoping for comments from the point after I write it..

yea, you need to plan it, plan it again, write it in rough, write it in full, edit it and then edit it again, letting a select number of people read it though between each stage. i know this sounds very daunting and tedious but if its something you believe in then it should be a very exciting and interesting experience. only once you've done all this can you begin to think about contacting publishers...

Write the book. Then find a publisher. A publisher isn't interested when you only have an idea - ideas are a dime a dozen.
