I'm really not sure what you mean. Being Canadian, we only hear about controversy/differing opinions about our own country, the US, and maybe the UK. We have no idea what people say and think about in other parts of the world.
As far as I know, nobody hates the Scandinavian countries, yet they are some of the most prosperous in the world. But then again, what do I know about it? Maybe there is all sorts of cultural strife between then, or maybe they all have beef with Germany, or something. See my point? We don't know how people in other countries feel about other countries, only about the opinions of the countries we're exposed to.
