My Boston has a problem with food.?
He poops normally at about noon, but then at about 7PM, he makes little small circles of runny poo
all over the floor. It smells terrible, and it's a mess to clean up. I have tried changing his food several times. I tried Blue Buffalo. Right now he is on Natural Balance Limited Ingredients Diet. His poop is good at noon, but then at 7PM he makes runny little spots all over the floor. What else should I try. I think he is allergic to chicken and corn and other grains, I would really appreciate any advise you could give.
I was very careful to keep him on the same food for several weeks, then I gradually added the new food. The Natural Balance LID diet has helped firm up his AM poos, but he still has the squirts at night. When I first got him from the shelter, he had horrible diarrhea and gas and was being fed cheap food. He is so much better - no more gas, just those runny poos at night. I will take him to the vet and I will try another food. Has anybody used Blue Wilderness Salmon?

if you think its a food allergy, then you should start him on an elimination diet
use a single protien source that is not found in the foods he's on.. fish or duck is ussually a good protien source to use for this diet.. as its not as commonly used. Keep him on that ONE food for a week or two to allow his body to adjust.
SLOWLY (one food a week) introduce new food items back into the diet, and see if he has a reaction to that particular item.
Also.. you know he has to poop again around 7.. so take him out around 7 so he can poop outside. Walk him around for 10-15 minutes, if he doesnt go, then crate him for about 10 minutes and try again.

Highly doubtful it is a food allergy. You have admitted to changing his food several times which will exaserbate the problem, if not be the culprit. You should try a chicken and rice diet for a few days then slowyly begin to transition him into a normal adult diet formula depending on his age. The chicken should only be boiled or baked, no butter, oil, or seasonings. Regardless you should consider having him seen by your local vet to rule out parasites, etc.

You need to first go see your vet. They will recommend a diet that is easy on the stomach and maybe some pills to help the diarrhea. I would recommend boiling chicken and some plain white rice for now, and giving him that. I doubt he has an allergy, but if you think he does you should try boiled hamburger instead of boiled chicken.

If you are convinced its food allergy, see a vet, they know better than anyone here.
But changing food upsets an animals stomach. You have to slowly ween them off of their old food, so if you were changing foods when this started, then maybe you should keep him on the same food for a few weeks and see if he still has the problem. If it goes away after a few weeks on the same food, then you probably messed with his stomach by changing food so often.
