Experienced water fasters, would it be okay to break a water fast with baechu kimchi and rice?
@Thaddeus: i'm wondering if kimchi and rice would be hard on my digestive system after 10 days of no food.
@eathealthy: I've done the research, right now I'm on my 9th day but I haven't really found much info on how to break a water fast, I mostly find info on juice fasts...thanks for your input :)

I am currently on a ten day water fast, which I have done countless times before, and I always break my fast with sub-acid or sweet fruits. These foods will be absorbed by the body the quickest, and will be the least amount of stress on the digestive system. If you are looking to fast for extended periods of time, I recommend reading up on the subject before taking this on. One book I have found to be the "bible" of fasting is Rational Fasting by Dr. Arnold Ehret. It is an old book, but it applies to anyone considering fasting on water for any period of time.

The best way to break a water fast is to start with drinking small amounts of juice. After a day of juice, you can progress to liquid foods such as pureed soups and smoothies. On day three, you should be able to eat solid fruits and vegetables, and may then progress to other foods.

I've never done a ten day fast. I do 3 day water fasts all the the time. I always eat really low calorie foods the first day after a fast...easier on my stomach...also I never want to gain any weight I may have lost.
Hope this helps ? =)
