how does DNA control the making of specific proteins in a cell?

    so basically the RNA is coded DNA. When you want to make a protein cell the DNA is first coded into RNA and then the cell makes another strand identicle to RNA called MRNA Then the MRNA goes and attaches itself to a ribosome. Then The RNA causes TRNA (t=transfer) to be made and then another peice of ribosome comes. and then amino acids are dropped off and then a protein is made etc. you can watch the rest in the video they explain it better than i do :) This video helped me understand it when i was taking bio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJxobgkPEAo
