You Got The Silver
Death Of A Clown wouldn't be among by favourites from the Kinks but You Got The Silver would be one of the best tracks from Let It Bleed imo.

Hi Orita, This is a question that i cannot really answer for you. All i know is that what you said too: 'He who is without sin cast the first stone'. That would not necesarrily mean he forbids it, but it does mean he did not support it. From a Muslim perspetive...... let me copy part of another answer to you. According to some, in the Qu'ran there should have been a surah about stoning to death for married aldulterers. However, the story goes, that the Prophet (PBUH) gave the surah about stoning for save keeping to Aysha (may Allah be pleased with her) and she kept it under her bed. Than the Prophet died, and while she was not in the house, grieving for him, a goat walked in and ate the Surah. Personally, i do not believe this (but that's how it ended up in the Sharia!) Had this been true, and had Allah wanted it as a punishment in the Qur'an it would have been there. No goat could have ever eaten it than! Punishment of stoning to death for adultery has not been prescribed in the holy Qur’an at all. The Prophet is reported to have prescribed this punishment in some cases but there is debate whether he did so before revelation of the verse of 100 lashes for zina (rape, fornication and adultery) or after that. There is no conclusive proof that he enforced any such punishment after the revelation of the verse 24:2 In fact stoning to death was prescribed by the Jewish law and the Prophet (PBUH) enforced it in case of a Jew and a Jewess in one case (see Bukhari 23:61), and others apparently occurred before the revelation of the Surah Nur (i.e. chapter 24). Also, stoning to death is in contradiction to the verse 4:25 wherein punishment for adultery is half for the slave-girls. Stoning to death cannot be made half whereas 100 lashes, as prescribed in 24:2 can be reduced to 50 in case of slave-girls. Now even this i feel is a too severe punsihment, but fact remains, you cannot half kill a person can you? To me it is easy! The Qur'an is the word from God. It's the only book He promised to protect. So if it is not in the Qur'an, and the hadeeth goes against EVERYTHING that is written there, i will discard it. This makes me a bad Muslim in some peoples eyes. But i figure 2 things: 1. Allah himself states in the Qur'an 'Today i have perfected your religion for you' so if something is perfect, nothing is left out. 2. Allah gave me a brain, not to blindly follow and obey everything, but to question and research. So i better use it! But Allah knows best! Peace, Tiffy
