Which is better a Citroën 2CV or a Renault R4L?
I mean to say which is better looks wise and which one is the better car of the two for quite high mileage and generally easiness to live with.
If you do not know the cars I mean then you will from their pictures below:

Firstly I'll admit I've owned a renault 4 and a Dyane 6 (2 CV's big sister) and driven a 2CV on several occasions. All 3 are quirky little cars that lean like mad on corners but actually hold the road surprisingly well - usually your bottle will go with the angle of lean before the grip fails ! Think the R4 was the most practical as the square box shape made it a practical little load carrier and it would sit on the motorway at 75 all the way from south of England to NE Scotland, admittedly the little 800cc engine was screaming ! 2CV and D6 both have a starting handle which when you are a student with a cr*ppy old car is handy as it gets you started despite a knackered charging system ;-) Over all think the R4 was easiest to live with and the most comfortable to drive.

They're both great fun wee cars, I've driven both!
Swings and roundabouts as to which one's better to be honest. The Renault has a bit more oomph, particularly if manage to find one of the later 1108cc GTL models, but the Citroën's far easier to get parts for in the UK, although it costs a lot more to buy.
I'd have the 2CV, if only for the unique driving experience!

I would opt for the 2 cv( deux chevaux) in french, its iconic in france, bit like the beetle in germany.
renault 4, not so much, mass produced and difficult to work on,

Leave it to the French.
