Sure they do, big time, at least on the enlisted side. They have spent tens of millions on commercials to build their image: The Few... The Proud... The Marines!

Marines are looking for a few Good Men! ...Probably a lot more on television advertising per recruit than any other service branch. I hardly watch any TV and I have seen their commercials. I am fairly sure they are all available on the Internet. I think I have only ever seen one commercial recruiting Marine Officer Candidates. That was just after they shut down the prior very slick Marineofficer.com website last year and replaced it with the new officer.marine.com edition. Never seen a major multi-media ad for Nrotc Marine Option or even Navy Option. Afrotc, Rotc and Nrotc mostly advertise in college newspapers. There is MCJROTC at certain high schools and high school students can join Young Marines in their area.

The Naval Academy gives presentations at select high schools and Naval Academy Mids sometimes give presentations at high schools around the holidays.

Good understanding of Nrotc by reading FAQ on the website of the nation's first Nrotc battalion:

    Good Luck!

Yes they do sometimes. They did not make as big a deal as the Army does however. They will sometimes visit just to hand out information, and will allow people to ask questions. The Marines also have things such as our pull up challenges, which you can find on YouTube. While I was in High School, the Army visited numerous times at the end of every year. I had to find a Marine recruiting station by walking all over the place until I stumbled into it. The Marines need recruits just as badly as the Army does. So things might be different in other areas. Its a big country, and things such as that often rely on the individual recruiting station.

yes the marines were actually at my high school more than any other branch!

in fact, i never saw USAF or Army there. just marines

Yes they do. I remember when they came to my school they let us try to do the pull ups you have to do in order to get into the Marines. It was pretty fun.

Yes. ALL the branches do this, except the Coast Guard.

    Yes.

And clackspimon, Marine is a proper noun and should be capitalized, unlike soldier, sailor, and airman. In your attempt to insult someone you made yourself look like a dumb a$$

Either way you did it twice. Good job.

no, the marines are for people who know what a proper noun is

Source(s): no, YOU, JJ, have asserted your status as a numbskull by insisting that my comment was directed towards "marines" instead of "high school", which is NOT a proper noun.
