Looking for a good sports shop?

Does anybody know of a sports shop that stocks a decent number and range of hockey sticks (field hockey), preferably in the East Midlands (near Northampton).

I know there are a few online sellers but I prefer to physically compare before I buy.

Update:

Just to clarify, I am in the UK so don't need answers suggesting American stores. I am also aware of the high street brands - they simply don't have the range or number in stock to be useful to a serious player.
