Can a broken key on a synthesizer be repaired?
I work at a pawn shop and a child beat on our Yamaha SY-22. How does a touch and velocity sensitive keyboard work? Are the key and whatever device that make it work modular. Can it be replaced? If nobody buys it at the shop I was thinking about getting it for myself
The key itself isn't broken externally, itm is more how the key connects to whatever is inside.

Don't you have POTTERY BARN RULES?.. That brats daddy should have had to BUY THE KEYBOARD.. when people can't control their brats in a store they should have to pay the price.
I used to do organ repair and the only way I now to fix a broken key on is to replace it.. and that may not be possible. Yamaha has a great customer service.. call them and see what they say.. or contact some place like Guitar center or Music123 or any of the national music stores and see what they can do for you.. It won'd be cheap.
Keyboard keys have a plastic that nothing seems to stick to.. so you probably won't be able to glue or epoxy it back together.
