How come Mariah Carey isn't respected as writer and singer today?

Well I respect her, and allot of smart people still do

There are a few reasons why some may not like her

1 Her voice has changed, Which is reasonable tho because she is 40 years old

2 She is dating someoneallott younger then her, But wait, who cares?

3 She still dresses like shes 20, But still, People should let her go. she obviously loves her life

I respect her for everything she has done .

But alot of people probably don't know she writes her own songs . People just judge her by her new music and never take a look at her true work in the 90's . Its sad but I respect her and love her , she is my idol .

Her music is crap. Most of the stuff she's 'produced' in the last several years hasn't done very well, save for one or two hits. I don't know how many people don't take her seriously because of her body, since before she was pregnant her weight always fluctuated like crazy. She's had many surgeries, like breast augmentation and lipo. And like someone else said, her music is way too immature for her age. And that type of whiny pop music using the word 'baby' and 'honey' and 'oooooh' and 'love you long time' is so overdone and hasn't been cool since like the late 90's early 2000.

She downgraded herself as an artist. All of her songs are immature and too young for her. She's still respected but alot of people like her old stuff, more than the songs she's releasing today.

I respect her. But a lot of people don't like her because everyone has their personal opinions.

I mean, that whole thing with Eminem. Her drunk on-stage thing at that one award show or whatever.

And NICK CANNON?

But overall, she's beautiful and a great musician.

i dont have no idea but the only thing i know is that she isnt that good NOW i mean she changed the type of singing songs when she was young she was a DIVA singing a song like "without me" thats PHENOMENAL to me and im 15 years old i am not into JB, taylor swift, or miley cyrus to here that kind of songs its annoying to me.
