How much do coinstar take when you cash your change with them?

I've heard about coinstar machines and I've just smashed a savings pot that was full. Rather than sort all the coins fully I thought I'd try one of these machines but what percentage of your total money do they take for the privilege?

It's about 20 percent I think or somehwere near that. If you bank with either Barclays or Natwest, they now have paiying in machines in larger branches that allow you to pay coinage (without bagging it up) straight into your bank account. The machine works in a similar way to a coinstar machine, but there is no charge to use it and you get a receipt showing the coin breakdown.

In the U.S., the fee for our coin counting service is 9.8 cents per dollar counted (11.9 cents Canada). Retailers or financial institutions may choose to discount this fee.

You can get free coin counting when you turn your coins into a Gift Card or eCertificate. So cash in and go splurge.

go to a local bank and ask for coin wrappers. wrap the coins yourself at home while watching tv. take the coins to the bank for cash. It's all free. You get to keep ALL of the money.

it's like 8 or 9 cents on the dollar which is somewhat substantial. what you need to do is just go out and get some good weed....sit around and just roll the coins up with a few friends. it'll be a great time!
