Were the ancient moors black?

    I haven't reached that chapter in my AP world history class, but from what I know (I am not 100% sure though) there have been accounts and describtions of them like, "As black as a moor" and they were dexcribed as having wool-like hair and just been really black and the term moor was refered to as a black person. Not sure if this is accurate, but they either came from present day Ethiopia or North Africa. My best guess is that they were the same ethnic groups as Egypt (African and Arab)

    Yes. They were North African, and many non-white Europeans (that like to claim they are white) are mixed with Moor blood such as Italians and Greeks.
