Why can't I ever see what I look like in my dreams?

Is it possible to see your own image while dreaming? I don't remember ever seeing what I look like in any dream I've ever had and it seems the times I have came close to looking in a mirror in my dreams, I wake up or something happens that takes me somewhere else. Has anyone else ever saw what they look like in a dream?

    In dreams you are embodied in your mind.

    I have a very vivid dream life and I've saw myself several times. But, it's usually not what you think. You'll see yourself, but it isn't you. My appearance in dreams is always different from life. It usually is for everyone, from what I've read.
