RHH: MF DOOM is the GOAT?
DISCLAIMER:
I'm not advocating that MF DOOM is the actual GOAT, I just thought that the article was pretty interesting; it quantifies rap. I realize rapping goes beyond rhyme schemes and patterns and includes entendres, meaning, wordplay, etc. Read the details and the article (below) and discuss.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"...we [at RapGenius] do contend that over the course of a career, the rappers with the highest rhyme densities are basically the best technical rappers. So based on Rhyme Density™, which rappers test out the best?
1. MF Doom .44, 2. Cam'ron .41, 3. Big Pun .40, 4. Eminem .38, 5. Fabolous .36"
The above is an excerpt from http://rapgenius.com/posts/Introducing-rapmetricst... . Again, read the article then discuss!

I gotta wonder how many emcees they rapmetricked to get these results. I mean MF Doom mostly talks a load of nonsense that is specifically twisted so that it rhymes without actually making much sense. I've never really listened to Cam'ron so I can't comment but from what I know of him he is a fast rapper would that not also score him higher points on their scale.
Some of the more underground cats would be interesting to analyse but seriously rapmetrics must have a lot of time on their hands.

Immortal Technique
GZA
or
DOOM
They are the only emcee's to be considered G.O.A.T.
Nuffsed.

Doom is up there. I don't know about the g.o.a.t, seems like people love him or just don't get him. Camron kind of through me off, he has a unique style and delivery but pretty generic as far as content is concerned.

Yussss, now I have something to post to defend em when haters are getting on my ***.
Anyway though it is true that just rhymes aren't everything, I think they are more a measure of talent because they are more of a measure of talent with words. If you listen to the songs and compare it with the words used the bending of the words and the flow of the artist I think it is a lot easier to determine the G.O.A.T
Surprised about fabolous though. I wanna see soulja boy try and get him now heh heh.

Talk about Density, Big Pun was the densest rapper (700 freaking pounds!)
Love the article though...
Who was the least dense rapper? Afrika Bambataa?

I don't get the calculation for GOAT thing, shouldn't it be based on talent?
DOOM is one of my favorites, I say he's up there with some of the best. He is one of the best rappers/producers in the game. I haven't heard a bad song from him. He's witty, clever, I love everything about him! I dunno about GOAT, but he's def one of the best.
Source(s): Lol, I think I have a slight crush on DOOM. - 54Lv 41 decade ago
Even though they admit it means nothing, doing this is just furthering the horrible idea that you should judge rappers based on counting up syllables. They shouldn't be encouraging that false definition of lyricism.

They should have included Percee P he would of blown them outta the water.
