Everton vs Manchester United. Question about the referee's decision.?
Would the referee have blown the final whistle prematurely if it was the Man United players attacking after the 3 allocated mins? Does Fergie get all the special treatments?
Fighting Torque:
Yes, the referee can end the game anytime. But he must allow the last attack to end naturally. The referee blew the whistle before the final pass. Clearly the player heard it, and took a half-hearted shot. Everyone heard the whistle blow. There is no excuse that the shot was saved. That's irrelevant.

course not it was a disgraceful decision to blow when he did. and if it was the other way round he would of deffo let play go on. But hey we scored 2 in injury time so it was nice to wipe the smile of fergies face.

There was no special treatment. The referee can blow the whistle at any time after the added time is up. Seeing that the time was up, he had every right to blow the whistle. On top of that, Van der Sar saved the shot so it wouldn't have been a goal, the Everton players carried on because they thought the game was still playing. Either way it wouldn't have been a goal.

The game would have ended at 3-1 if the ref wanted to give Utd special treatment.

Who cares!! I'd predicted a draw and it ended in a draw...
Those are two of my rival clubs and I always look forward to a draw and a few red cards.... Sadly there were no red cards this time...
