Can I use ddr2 and ddr3 memory sticks for an old laptop that uses ddr1 memory sticks?

I have an old laptop that I want to upgrade. Is it possible?

    Not only the bus speeds, even the size of the slot is different as well as the position of the "key" in the slot edge - don't even try, you can fry the mem stick.

    ddr1 , ddr2, ddr3 all have different speeds.

    ddr1 has 333 mhz

    ddr2 has 800 mhz.

    ddr3 has 1033 mhz .

    if you change the ram your processor can get damaged.

    old processors ar not compatible with ddr2 and ddr3 .

    No you can't, the slots are all different between 1 , 2 and 3

    No the buss speeds are entirely different.
