I'm 17 and currently 33 weeks pregnant. I would do the same thing my parents did, and support her. I would make sure that she knew I wouldn't watch her baby all the time. I would make sure that she understood how critical and important being a mother is and if she couldn't measure up to it, I would help her prepare and mature, and grow. I would teach her to be the best mother she could be. If she wanted to go for adoption, I would support her there too. I would support her in any choice she makes, but abortion. I would be extremely disappointed in her if she were to get an abortion. I wouldn't hate her, but I would be disappointed. I would still support her, but I would not feel a bit sorry for her if she felt badly afterwards. She's 18 and she should be able to somewhat support the child on her own. But, I would most definitely love and support her, and be a good grandma to the child. (:

I got pregnant at 16, a few months after I had already moved out from my parents. I told my mom and she was shocked, but in the end as happy as could be. She bought me the crib and a few things for my baby shower and always buys gifts for connor (my 7 1/2 month old) If I needed a place to live I was always welcomed, If I need money she is always there to help, if I need anything she is there to support me. I don't ask for anything since I don't want to take advantage. I love my parents because if I really need anything they are there for me.

My parents were great because for my shower they got the big gifts so the crib and the car seat/ stroller. If I need a baby sitter they are always free (not that I go out without him very often). my mother works at a daycare and sometimes I'll have questions she can answer, like we just found out that my son get fibrile seizures and she was a big help. They give me ride if I am going far (I usually bus).

One thing I see a lot is young girls not taking care of their child but instead having their parents babysit all the time and it frustrates me because it's their baby and that child should be raised by his/her parents not grandparents, and it isn't fair to the grandparents either. I also see girls always complaining about how they have no money but smoke a pack every two days (that's 150$ a month!)

To be supportive, I say you should help her find a Dr, go with her to ultrasounds, find parenting classes,.. etc help her be a parent, don't be the parent instead of her.

Yes of course I would, that's what mothers are supposed to do.

However I would insist that she and the baby's father both get jobs, and and do most the child care themselves, because it's their child. But I would watch the baby of they needed me to, and help out if like they were out of money and had no diapers.

I would help her and support her no matter what her age and she got pregnant.

I would support her. I probably would help her whether she chose abortion, adoption or to keep it. Although i believe abortion is wrong i couldn't really stop her as it wouldn't be my body.

We'd be looking for a good adoption agency.
