What kind of bug is this?
I have noticed this little bug, only a few MM big, crawling all over. They are brown, they move fairly quickly but don't fly, they only seem to have their body and a head, kinda looks like 2 circles attached to each other. They seem to be attracted to my computers and my TV and my bed. They are easily squished and killed with a fingertip, I also left a glass out that had a little tiny juice in the bottom and I found several in there dead a couple days later. I haven't noticed any itching or bug bites, but they're annoying! They're just everywhere. I'm trying to figure out what they could be so I can get rid of them. They are so small I don't think I can take a picture. I am so paranoid one is on me all the time, I hate bugs. I do have dogs, but they are on flea preventative and I've dealt with fleas in the past. They aren't bed bugs because they are found in more places than just my bed. They seem to be mostly nocturnal, but I do find them in the day sometimes just crawling across my computer. They really do like screens from computer/tv, that is the biggest thing I notice. I haven't found any in my kitchen or living room, they tend to just stay in the office and bedroom. They aren't effecting anything except my paranoia of them crawling on me, so I have no idea what they are. I would love to know at least how to get rid of them if no one can identify them. I live in Kansas by the way if that helps.
After reading about Meal Beetles, I ran across flour beetles, I'm not sure if they are the same thing but the pictures of flour beetles look more like what I have than meal beetles. I haven't seen any "worm" like things though. I will check my food, but there is a possibility it's not coming from me, I live in an apartment building in a small town with lots of factories, so there a lot of explanations of where they are coming from. Any ideas of how to get rid of them fully if they are from me? And what if they are from an outside source?

Your describing meal beetles pretty good. They are phototropic (attracted to light) like many insects, hence they are on your t.v.,computer, and lamp. They may be attracted to sugars in your drink, but they are not equipped to handle liquid-so they drown.
They are harmless and will not bite you. They generally hatch out of old containers of grain products(cereal,crackers,cookies,etc.). If you do a search of your house-food containers, etc. you may find the source. The fact that you live in Kansas may be a clue if you live near a farm, grain silo, grain repository, etc. that could be your source... hope that helps.
CARRIE-I read your addition, if you want to get rid of them no matter their origin, get some glue traps from your local hardware/grocery store and set them around/on your monitors,t.v., lamps etc. and you should see the beetles disappear in a few days.

draw me a picture, if you think your camera can't capture their essence, and take a picture of it.
Source(s): hello, flour beetles enjoy dog food.
