ancient astronaunt theroy?

Theories or claims by von Daniken and others regarding ancient astronauts or visitors to earth from another planet are based on the supposition that early man was not intelligent enough to create advanced technologies or principles like geometry,mathematics, etc...by themselves. Von Daniken was a good researcher and found some amazing evidences but he drew the wrong conclusions to support his ideas...and sell lots of books which made him rich. His argument is based on subjective interpretations of things like a figure which looks like an astronaut or a description or artwork of what might be a spaceship...if that's what you want to see, you'll see it. There are any number of evidences which show that some ancient people were highly advanced for their times. Is that because of aliens helping them or just their inherent brilliance in some cases?

From a Biblical perspective, man was highly intelligent right from the start and ancient people were closer to perfection than we are today...we just have centuries of trial and error with which to increase our knowledge. Millions of books in ancient libraries like Alexandria and others were destroyed over time...we have lost the knowledge that ancient people had and have to relearn it by trial and error all over again...how long would it take to relearn how to make metals or other things if civilization and books were destroyed?. We benefit from centuries of experience since then.

How much knowledge did people have before the Flood which happened around 1600 years after Creation...roughly 2400 BC? How much could they learn if they lived to be 8-900 years old? What have we learned in the last 8-900 years? The Bible states that Tubal-Cain worked with iron and other metals before the Flood...something which was not relearned by people until many centuries after the Flood. Just because we have not figured out how Stradivarius built his violins and other instruments better than anyone else has been able to...does that automatically mean he was guided by aliens? No...it just means that some people in the past were very brilliant in what they did and their secrets remain a mystery to us. It's been suggested in recent years that his method was as simple as soaking wood in water to drive out any oils and make the pores hollow to mimic the human voice. For centuries, researchers and other violin makers sought elaborate ways to reproduce his work...old wood from ancient cathedrals, special varnishes, exact tolerances or the type of wood, etc.....all failed.

We labor under the assumptions that ancient people could not have figured out how to build huge pyramids, move huge blocks of stone and arrange them with precision. travel the oceans, observe the stars with telescopes or create microscopic writings using optical lenses, or fly in hot air balloons....yet it's pretty obvious they did such things and more.

Of course, it also depends if you accept that the universe is billions of years old according to the Big Bang theory which would allow for enough time for aliens to travel to earth...yet the distances are still so vast that it would take a multi-generational trip to travel to earth from elsewhere. Or if you accept the Bible as it states that God created all things in the universe in six literal days... around 6000 years ago according to the genealogies from Adam until Jesus and on until today. The Bible makes no mention of any other life forms in the universe except on earth...the rest of the universe was created to show God's power and Glory and for signs and seasons for us on earth.

If the universe is only 6000 years old, any alien astronauts or beings would have the same problems with advancing in technology enough to travel to earth as we do in traveling outside of our solar system.

According to one researcher...Laird Scranton...the ancient Dogon people of Western Africa may have had knowledge of advanced principles like atomic theory, string theory, quantum mechanics, etc... and incorporated them into their hieroglyphics.

I am still a firm believer of the theory. And I am also a dedicated catholic. Besides the Vatican did admit that live could exist outside of our solar system.
