new to guitar. does playing in c blues mean c minor pent?

The dude in the video is playing in C minor pentatonic. C minor pentatonic is very similar to C blues scale. Check out this site:

It shows you the differences between the two scales.
You play the A minor pentatonic scale with the root note on the fifth fret. To play the C minor pentatonic scale, all you do is move the same scale pattern up 3 frets so that the root note is now on the 8th fret. It is really simple.

Do you know what a 12 bar blues is? Look it up, because that's all it is. It's a blues progression, in the key of C.
There's several things you can do to solo over a C blues progression, the minor pentatonic is one of them.
A minor and C major are relative major keys, but that really doesn't have much to do with blues harmony.
