Math absolute equation help!?
I've tried a dozen time to come up with these! I got the first one ( |8x-4|=3) but I need help on the other two!
Give a unique example of each:
1. An absolute value equation with two solutions (Is my answer right?^^)
2. An absolute value equation with one solution
3. An absolute value equation with no solutions
Thank you so much for the help!!

1. your answer is write
2. |x| = 0 has only one solution which is 0
3. |x^2 + 1| = 0. it has no solution in real number
Hope i helped :-)

First, you simplify until you have just an absolute value on one side. Then, you make two cases: either what's in the absolute value is positive or negative: |a| = b (with b >= 0) Either a = b or a = -b Then solve the two. Usually there will be two separate solutions, which both work. 1. |x| = 4: either x = 4 or x = -4 2. |3x+2| = 14: either (3x+2) = 14 or (3x+2) = -14 so x = 4 or x = -16/3 3. -3 |2x+6| = -12 |2x+6| = 4 either (2x+6) = 4 or (2x+6) = -4 so x = -1 or -5 4. |x-2| + 10 = 12 |x-2| = 2 either x-2 = 2 or x-2 = -2 so, x = 4 or x = 0 5. |x| - 8 = -5 |x| = 3 so x = 3 or x = -3

lets do the last one first
you know that absolute value is always positive..
so to make NO SOLUTION just put the answer as NEGATIVE it cant be true
| 6x | = -3
has NO SOLUTIONS
2) FOR one solution that is easy too you want X to be a number that is the same when positive or negative the only number that is the same when positive and negative is 0
| 6x| = 0 has only one solution x = 0
