  • Am I a bad person for leading him on?

Hi :) before I start here are the details:

I've never been in a relationship before.

We are both sophmores. We have known each other since middle school and he's helped me out through alot of issues and problems. We stay up till 3 in the morning talking. He has asked me out before a few different times.

    Now my dilemma:

I really like him. I'm just not comfortable with labels and everything. He tells me he loves me all the time and I feel horrible for leading him on and telling him that I do, too. He tells me he'll wait forme to be comfortable to date. What should I do? I'm afraid that if we do start dating that something will go wrong and I'll lose him.

And any guys answering, could you please explain to me how you would feel about this? I'm just confused about this whole situation.

  • How to determine the zeros of this equation?

Hi :) I'm an Algebra 2 student and I'm having a bit of trouble answering this question.

    Determine the zeros of f(x)=x^4-x^3+7x^2-9x-18.

I have almost all of the work to this problem done. Here's my work:

Step 1: Use the Rational root Theorem:

    factors of p: +-1,+-2,+-3,+-6,+-9,+-18

    factors of q: +-1

    factors of p/q (simplified) : +-1,+-2,+-3,+-6,+-9,+-18

Step 2:Use Descartes' Rule of Signs:

Ater using this I found these possibilities:

3 positive real zeros, 1 negative real zero and 1 complex real zero.

    or

0 positive real zeros, 1 negative real zero and 3 complex real zero.

    Step 4: Test the factors:

I used synthetic division to text which of the factors of p (from step 1) would create a remainder of 0.

The results were that only 2 and -1 created remainders of 0.

Step 5: Write the depressed equations.

After using synthetis division i cam up with these equations:

    2: x^3+x^2+9x+9 and -1: x^3-2x^2+9x-18

Now my trouble is, how do you simplify those two equations from step 5 in order to solve for x? I don't know if I factor or use the quadratic formula. Also, sorry for not typing out everything. I have a very sore wrist and it really hurts to type. You don't have to give me the answers, but just please guide me in the right direction. Thank you very much!!

  • Mongol/Mughal Empire-10 points to first answer that helps!?

I need some help reseaching information on "The Military Weapons of the Mughal Empire in Early Modern India: The Origins Battlefield Strategies, Armor, Control, and Historic Instances of the Use of Battlefield Elephants."

So far I have found these two:

    http://www.indianetzone.com/37/military_organizati...

    and

    http://www.mongolia-attractions.com/mongol-war-tac...

I'm not sure how to go about researching this but I can't use wikipedia and that seems to be the only site with a substantial amount of information. I live less than 2 minutes from a library and they told me they have pratically nothing on the Mongol empire.

  • Word problems and Matrices?

I am having trouble answering these questions for my Algebra 2 class. I'm homeschooled and I don't really have the need resources to figure this out. I'm working on matrices and "honors word problems" and any answers that explain how to solve/write it out will be greatly appreciated!!!

1)A can of white paint costs $16 while a can of green paint costs $20. Susan is mixing 12 cans of paint and will pay $19 per can for the mixture. How many cans of white paint will she purchase?

    would this work?

    w-white g-green

    16w+20g=19 and w+g=12

2)Choose the value of the coefficient determinant (D) in the following system.

    8x + 3y = 22

    16x + 4y = 26

For this one I got -16. please tell me if it's wrong!

    3) Choose the value of the y determinant (Dy) in the following system.

    x – 2y = –4

    2x – 3y = –3

I'm not sure how to set this one up. :(

    4) A gardener is mixing two fertilizers. The first contains 44% of quality soil and the second contains 71% quality soil. To get 18 pounds of the mixed fertilizer with 63.5% of the quality soil, how many pounds of the first brand of soil will she need?

Just set this one up please, don't solve it completely!

    5) Choose the value of the x determinant (Dx) in the following system.

    6x + y = 1

    4x + 3y = –11

I don't know how to set this one up either...

    6) Explain, in complete sentences, the process of using Cramer’s Rule to solve the following system of equations. Provide the solution to the system.

    2x + 7y = 2

    3x + 8y = 2

    7) A mom buys three different types of t–shirts for her children, long sleeve, polo, and short sleeve. The long sleeve shirts cost $18 each, the polo’s cost $15 each, and the short sleeve shirts cost $12 each. The mother purchased three less polo’s than she did short sleeves. If the mother purchased 18 shirts at an average of $14 each, find the number of each type of shirt purchased and explain, in complete sentences, how you arrived at this answer.

^This one is driving me nuts. >:/

  • My mom is moving out, is abusive, controlling, and blames it on me! What do i do! Im afraid of her!?

My mother is very controlling. She pulled me out of public schooling to home school me and she literally MADE me tell my friends it was because of my insecurities and problems. Luckily, one true friend still keeps in contact with me but every time we talk she starts to yell at me. He now thinks that I want nothing to do with him.

She also believes spanking is fine and I can see why. However she goes over board. My 9 yr. old sister has welts on her legs. The other day I got a long but thin scratch on my cheek from a broken piece of plastic she threw at me.

She also woke me up this morning to tell me shes moving out. At first I was in shock, then elated( due to the thought of long prayed for freedom), But then fear because due to the effect of being pulled out of school I am emotionally dependent on her.

Im a 14 girl who is crying herself to sleep daily. Please help me.
