I have Windows Vista and.. (lol)?
I didnt mess with any settings and turn the computer on today and my start bar and windows look like it's windows 98 or something. I checked my personal settings and window color appearance but of course no luck.
I have no idea how to obviously make it look normal again. Im gonna say **** it and purchase/dl the windows 7.

Well if you really like Vista, you could insert a recovery disk and scan for corrupted/missing files. I personally would upgrade to 7 if you are already thinking about it as it appears to be a much better operating system than Vista.

Your computer could be running in safe mode but I doubt that. If you are still in Vista right click your desktop and click appearance. Once you do, make sure that one of the default windows themes isnt selected and turn on your custom theme if its not selected.
If that doesnt work, I suggest backing up your files and re-installing vista. Or better yet just go with your idea and get Windows 7. Vista is garbage anyways.
