Hawaii (Maui) or Atlantis in the Bahamas?

My friends and I are going to one of these places over Christmas vacation. Which should we go to and why?! If you haven't been to either of them, which would you rather go to?

    I have been to both places, and believe me, Maui absolutely kicks the Bahamas a$$!!!

    Overall, Maui's a beautiful island, and the Bahamas (New Providence Island, at least, where Atlantis is located) is ugly and run-down.

    I'll never go to the Bahamas again, but I'd go to Maui tomorrow if I could.

    Been to both. Won't return to the Bahamas. Have returned 4 times to Maui and I'm not done yet.

    Atlantis is very expensive. Maui is lovely too but less expensive. I would go there. Florida always is a great destination . How about the Cayman Islands too. What about Peru or Mexico?

    I live in around Tampa, and Clearwater Beach is just as beautiful as Maui and Atlantis, plus cheaper. Its a great place to visit.

    In 2000 I went to Bahamas and enjoyed swimming in the fresh pools that are aplenty close to the coast. Good food is also available. All the best!
