All it is is plastic, with glass on top. However the one site that sells them is REALLY expensive... is there somewhere else I can go to get it made??

I doubt you'd find anyone to make this. It looks like a specialty piece. However, you could achieve a similar look by finding a large pot at a nursery and topping it with a piece of glass.
