May I make an unbiased comment please.. It appears all the 'juicer boys' cannot read or understand a question correctly...?

In my opinion Mayweather has not fought Manny Pac for the following reasons:

    1) Floyd Mayweather knows he's coming to the end of his career. A fight with Manny Pac would send him into a comfortable retirement, never having to work again.

    2) When the first fight date was first penciled in - It was too soon! There was not enough time to sell it to the world (OK America was a sell out..... but's that's only small chips compared to a global PPV...!!)

    3) Floyd and Manny both took different fights that year (2009). The media went to town on the drug testing issues - Absolutely brilliant free media coverage around the world... A true master stroke...!!

    4) As 2010 dawned on us... There was still a media frenzy regarding the alleged drugs issues... Floyd went away and had another fight.... Keeping the boxing fans on the edge of their seats...

    5) Seeing as Floyd and Manny have both fought this year, it would be financial suicide to stage such a mega-fight later this year... The tax man would eat up most of their earnings...

    6) Now... Floyd knows that Manny Pac is one tough cookie, he knows he will have to pull out all the stops to beat this guy..... And to maintain his 100% record.

    7) Floyd knows that Manny Pac is now involved in politics in his native homeland... A very time consuming role you will agree...? More time in the office = Less time in the gym.

    8) With a year now passed since Pacquiou was a 'full time' boxer', Mayweather must be thinking his sharpness is in decline, his once tunnel vision, is now occupied by the general (voting) Philippine public?? Making Mayweather have that slight mental edge...

    9) Maybe Manny Pac has kinda given up on Mayweather, maybe he's getting more and more engrossed in his political agenda....?

    10) 2011 will be the year that Mayweather agrees to 'one last fight'.... This will be the mega fight with Pacquiou. He will call it for the spring (leaving Pacquiou little time to train), he will probably win a points decision..... And ride off into the sunset, a rich, rich,.... CLEVER,.....man!

Manny's occupation is very almost over, so i do no longer think of he's averting a brilliant payday to help his occupation. Floyd dropping to Manny might reason irreparable injury to Floyd's ego and legacy. whilst they have been negotiating earlier, it grew to become into Floyd who saved including provisions to the contract as a manner to steer away from the combat. the point of being a specialist fighter is to make money, and the guy who backed down from the combat grew to become into Floyd. If a fighter needs to make money he might take the main money obtainable and not shop including clauses after an contract have been reached. It fairly does not depend to me who wins, and prefer maximum vast fights i think of this combat may well be like a honey moon, the prelims are in all probability extra valuable than the main significant journey.

Ok their are two reasons . # 1 is that Mayweather is $$ greedy $$ and wont make what he thinks he deserves and # 2 Mayweather is afraid of Manny , For the first time in Mayweathers career he knows that Manny will bring out the best in him and jepordize his undefeated status. I would give Manny the edge in this fight .

Floyd has said that fighting Manny was a no win situation. He is the bigger man, so if he wins he doesn't get any credit, and if he loses, he has lost his legacy.

Everyone, gets to the point where money is not a motivator, and he doesn't need money.

The point is he can't buy better clothes, or cars, or a house, so it doesn't matter if he is leaving $40 million on the table or 4 cents.

I may agree with eddie f but by that time, i will have my eyes on rising and exciting boxers rather than them. there are a lot of boxers elite in the making today that is worth watching. Avoidance of Mayweather to fight Pac may cause fans to lose interest in the fight.

His bluff(s) got called, Nothing to do but fold or pay bigtime. Floyds marketability is hinged on his zero loss. when the Pacman adds a "One" in that record, Floyd's stock will go wayyyyyyyyy down since he is NOT an exciting fighter.

I couldn't imagine passing up 40 millions dollars for any reason, so honestly I think Floyd just wants to take a break and wait for his uncle to clear up his judicial problems.

  • 1 decade ago

they both want to fight they are just waiting

think of all the interest built in this fight now everyone wants to see it so it will be the most watched event ever

ppv so more veiws = more money

that is the only reason it hasnt happend yet
