    1. "Sing, Muse, the anger of Peleus' son Achilles, which put pains thousandfold upon the Achaeans..."

    2. He quarrels with King Agamemnon (over a war concubine); sulks, and refuses to go into battle.

    3. Agamemnon takes captive the daughter of Chryses, a Trojan priest; Chryses prays to Apollo, who sends a plague on the Greeks. The daughter (Chryseis) must be returned to stop the plague; this leads to Agamemnon taking Achilles' war concubine instead, and is the cause of their quarrel.

    4. Agamemnon and Menalaos (husband of Helen) - the two sons of Atreus.

    5. In the context of their quarrel? Agamemnon demands Achilles' slave girl Briseis, when he has to give up Chryseis to end the plague.
