Why are some people bursting crackers now, although Diwali is a long way away?

Bursting crackers is causing too much noise, which is unbearable. I can become deaf.

During Diwali and nearby days, ofcourse, I go to some open spaces, where there is nobody, yes, NOBODY, within the radius of 50 meters, and sit there for hours until the cracker bursting ceases in the city. Or I take a train, preferably express or superfast and go to some place, and return because train mostly passes through uninhabited place, and express/superfast trains dont stop often.

If this is the case now, how am I going to escape from being deaf?

Update:

This has been the trend since two days.

Update 2:

i.e. with effect from 19th September 2010. Diwali is on 5th November 2010.

It might be the Ganesh celebration. However, a better guess is that Ramadan was just over and the Muslims are celebrating.
