America and Vietnam factual inaccuracies?

I was going through the channels on my TV and noticed another Chuck Norris film about the US in Vietnam. Now, this got me wondering. Why do the Americans go on about this war so much, and give the impression they won it, when in fact they lost it? Comparatively we British don't go on about the Falklands, a war we did indeed win, but have largely consigned to the history books.

The US learned a valuable lesson from the Viet Nam War that the British never learned: soldiers are not to blame for wars. We treat all of our soldiers as the returning heroes they are now no matter what war they fought in.

How does the UK treat their soldiers now? Pretty damn despicable.

And you're comparing the Falklands with Viet Nam? That's like comparing a snow flake with an avalanche. The US doesn't make movies about Grenada or Panama which were military operations of the same scale as the Falklands.

If you do not like Chuck Norris, simply switch the channel. This war lasted for a long time and many were involved. Some day Chuck Norris Jr. will be making films about Iraq and Afghanistan. Look at how many WWII movies were made in the 40's. 50's and 60's. By the way we did have our Falkland Islands War, it was called Grenada and there is only 1 movie about that one........

I don't know ANY Americans who think we won Vietnam. You were watching a Chuck Norris movie. If Chuck Norris was fighting for the US during the Vietnam War, we would have won resoundingly as Chuck would have roundhouse kicked every ones a$$ into surrender.

Americans "on on" about Vietnam because it is an ugly blemish that could have ended much differently had the politicians at the time had a pair (and Chuck Norris).

We sort of lost the war, but in fact America never declared war so all our resources wasn't used also the war wasn't ours to begin with. When it comes to the number of casualties Vietnam loss by far. Over a million Vietnamese NVA and VC killed compared to 59,000 American soldiers. But they say we loss the war because communism remained and we decided just to go home.

If America really wanted to win we could of nuked that poor country a 1000 times and still have enough nukes to wipe out China. But of course we wouldn't do that. Maybe

i'm an avid reader yet i don't think I actual have examine any books written with the help of the gents you suggested. I actual have examine some articles and that i watched a Dawkins interview once, I in simple terms can no longer get with the help of the dislike and intolerance to work out if there is any actuality below all of it. My absolute well-liked atheist is Siddh?rtha Gautama a minimum of he taught love, no longer hate. The Buddha taught non-violence, appreciate for all existence, the ease of giving generously and of a normal existence type, serving for many human beings as a style of the utmost criteria of humane habit. If Dawkins ought to educate as Buddha did with compassion, humbleness and style......then i ought to actual take heed to what he had to assert. (BTW - i do not tell others to ascertain the bible OR to become a Christian....that's for each human being to decide.)

Falklands was a victory, but was overshadowed by the Troubles.

Vietnam was a military victory, or would have been if they had stayed in until the end, it was the spineless/communist politicians and the easily manipulated, drug addled public that lost the war, not the military.

The same reason you went on and on about your massive losses in WW1. It consumed a generation and was a turning point.
